Offshore liability levy

According to Section 17f (5) of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG), network operators are permitted to recoup the cost of compensation payments by charging final consumers with a levy on the grid use charges. The relevant TSOs – TenneT TSO and 50Hertz Transmission – had these costs validated by independent auditors. The revenues from the offshore grid charge cover the corresponding costs of compensation for disturbances or delays in the connection of offshore installations and the costs of setting up and operating the offshore connection lines.
